The Company

Empyrean Solutions specializes in financial risk and performance management solutions for banks and credit unions. Empyrean offers a comprehensive suite of software products supporting asset-liability management, budgeting and financial planning, capital stress testing, profitability, and funds transfer pricing. Our solutions empower financial institutions to manage risk, improve decision‑making, and build stable long‑term earnings.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Product Manager to join Empyrean Solutions and help build the data infrastructure layer that powers our next generation of financial analytics products. This is a platform-focused role, you’ll work primarily with engineering and data teams to define, prioritise, and deliver on a multi-stream data platform programme built on Snowflake, a new Business Intelligence application replacing our existing Analytics tooling, and an emerging AI/ML capability layer.

This is a role for someone early in their PM career who is technically curious, comfortable working inside complex data and engineering environments, and energised by building foundational infrastructure that other products depend on. You’ll sit alongside an experienced PM team and have clear mentorship and growth paths, while owning meaningful workstreams from day one.

You’ll also participate in external-facing activities, customer testing sessions, advisory board engagements, and feedback loops, working alongside senior PMs and product leadership to translate customer signal into platform requirements.

About the Team

You’ll join a product organisation led by the Director of Product Management, working alongside a close-knit PM team that owns Empyrean’s core product suite — including Dataverse, Explorer, Model IQ, CECL, ALM, and Profitability. This role sits within the data platform domain and will work most closely with the PMs responsible for Dataverse, the new BI application, and report migration workstreams.

Empyrean serves community banks and credit unions across the United States. Our products sit at the intersection of financial analytics, regulatory reporting, and data infrastructure — complex, important, and genuinely interesting problems to work on.

This role offers real scope for growth. As our data platform matures and the BI and AI programme progresses, the PM owning this domain will have increasing influence over a strategically critical part of our product portfolio.

What You'll Do

Platform Product Delivery

• Contribute to the end-to-end delivery of data platform features across our Bronze/Silver/Gold medallion architecture on Snowflake, covering data ingestion, transformation, and presentation layers

• Define clear requirements for pipeline behaviour, data modelling decisions, and platform configuration features, working closely with engineering to translate these into well-scoped, sequenced work

• Support prioritisation across concurrent platform streams, helping to manage dependencies and surface trade-offs to senior PMs and engineering leads

• Own delivery of defined workstreams with appropriate autonomy, escalating ambiguity or blockers quickly

Business Intelligence & AI

• Work with the BI PM and engineering to define requirements for our new internal BI application, contributing to feature delivery across dashboards, reporting, and data visualisation capabilities

• Help track and articulate the dependency chain between platform infrastructure readiness and downstream BI and AI/ML feature gating, keeping roadmap dependencies visible

• Develop working familiarity with AI/ML product concepts relevant to our platform roadmap, including agentic workflows and ML-driven analytics phases planned for later programme phases

Stakeholder & Customer Engagement

• Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, engineering, data, and fellow PMs who are consumers of the platform, treating them with the same rigour you’d apply to external customers

• Participate in customer-facing activities including usability testing, customer advisory board sessions, and structured feedback loops alongside senior PMs, contributing observations and helping to translate findings into platform requirements

• Communicate clearly on progress, blockers, and trade-offs to a range of audiences including engineering teams and product leadership

Discovery & Continuous Improvement

• Conduct structured discovery with internal stakeholders to understand the real jobs-to-be-done behind platform and tooling requests, digging past surface-level asks to find the underlying need

• Use data and feedback to identify opportunities to improve platform reliability, performance, developer experience, and data consumer experience

• Balance feature delivery with quality, technical debt awareness, and the incremental, sequenced approach that complex platform work demands

What You Bring

Required Experience

• A minimum of two-years of product management experience in B2B SaaS, enterprise software, or a data/analytics-adjacent environment

• Experience shipping software features end-to-end, you’ve taken requirements through to delivery and know what that process looks and feels like

• Genuine technical curiosity and comfort engaging with engineering teams on data models, APIs, pipeline architecture, and integration patterns — you don’t need to be an engineer, but you need to hold your own in technical conversations

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, you can explain a complex dependency or trade-off clearly without losing the thread

• Comfort working with ambiguity and evolving priorities in a platform environment where upstream decisions affect downstream products

Preferred Background

• Familiarity with modern data stack concepts, data warehousing, ETL/ELT pipelines, SQL, BI tooling, even if you haven’t owned these areas as a PM before

• Exposure to or genuine interest in AI/ML product concepts and how they integrate with data platforms

• A grasp of financial services concepts relevant to community banks and credit unions (balance sheets, financial reporting, regulatory data requirements), useful but not essential

• Familiarity with structured discovery methodologies such as Jobs-to-be-Done

• Experience working within an Agile/Scrum delivery environment alongside engineering teams

Not a Fit If You:

• Prefer to observe technical discussions from a distance rather than engaging with the detail

• Need a fully defined roadmap and minimal ambiguity to operate effectively

• Avoid customer and stakeholder conversations in favour of working primarily from documentation or second-hand research

• Struggle to move between big-picture thinking and detailed requirements work within the same day

• Are looking for a solo contributor role — this team works closely together and relies on strong internal collaboration
