The Company

Empyrean Solutions specializes in Financial Risk and Performance Management solutions for financial institutions. Empyrean offers a comprehensive suite of software products to power balance sheet simulations for asset-liability management, financial planning and analysis, capital stress testing, and funds transfer pricing. We deliver a complete solution that offers comfort to regulators and empowers institutions to manage risk and build stable long-term earnings.

The Team

The planning and profitability experts of the Professional Services team help financial institutions harness the full potential of Empyrean's Profitability and Budgeting & Planning products through implementation services, consulting, training, and support. The Bank Performance Management Support Consultant works directly with banks and credit unions after go-live to keep their Profitability and Budgeting & Planning solutions running smoothly — resolving support requests, maintaining configured models, and helping clients get sustained, reliable value from their performance reporting.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary point of contact for client support requests related to Empyrean's Profitability and Budgeting & Planning solutions, from initial triage through resolution.

• Troubleshoot configuration, data, and reporting issues within existing profitability models, including dimensions, hierarchies, and allocation logic.

• Troubleshoot configuration, data, and calculation issues within existing planning models, including driver-based assumptions and forecast logic across net interest margin, non-interest income and expense, capital expenditure, and payroll planning.

• Help clients interpret their profitability reporting across customer, instrument, product, and organizational views, and their budgets, forecasts, and variance reporting, guiding them toward root-cause fixes rather than one-off workarounds.

• Maintain clear documentation of support cases and contribute to a growing internal knowledge base of common issues and resolutions across both solutions.

• Escalate complex configuration or product issues to implementation consultants or product management, and follow through to resolution.

• Advise clients on best practices for data management, reporting, financial planning and analysis, and profitability measurement.

• Serve as a liaison between the client user community and Empyrean's product management team, channeling client needs into product direction.

• Apply AI-assisted tools and repeatable processes to resolve support issues more efficiently and consistently, and contribute to improving those processes over time.

• Safeguard sensitive customer data by following all applicable policies and controls and using approved channels for data transmission.

• Perform other job duties and assignments as needed and directed.

Required Experience

• Degree in finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

• Experience in banking, financial services, FP&A, or financial technology.

• Solid understanding of the banking industry, accounting, and financial statements.

• Strong knowledge of Excel and experience working with large datasets.

• Strong attention to detail and good planning and organization skills.

• Experience with business intelligence tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.).

• Comfortable following and improving structured processes, especially under the pressure of an open support queue.

• Demonstrated AI literacy in a professional environment and sound judgment about when and how to apply it, including awareness of data-handling and confidentiality considerations.

Preferred Skills

• Working knowledge of bank profitability concepts, including Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP), cost allocation, and product, customer, instrument, and organizational profitability measurement.

• Working knowledge of bank financial planning concepts, including net interest margin forecasting, non-interest income and expense modeling, and capital and payroll planning.

• Understanding of a bank's balance sheet and loan payment calculations.

• Familiarity with fixed-income cashflow calculation and fixed income math.

• Familiarity with risk-based / regulatory capital attribution and allowance (ACL/ALLL) calculations.

• Experience supporting or implementing planning or profitability solutions at a financial institution.

• Experience with financial data management, ETL tools, and Microsoft Power Query.

• Knowledge of SQL or other data-analysis tools.

• Prior customer support, consulting, implementation, or customer-success experience.

• Experience building or improving repeatable, AI-assisted workflows.
